Christopher Lynn Boyd, January 06, 1970 — March 08, 2019

Christopher Lynn Boyd, age 49, of Jonesborough, TN passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 peacefully with his family and many friends by his side. Chris loved life and was a friend to everyone he met. He was born and raised in Elizabethton.

He played basketball at Hunter Elementary and during that time his team won the State Championship. He also played basketball at Elizabethton High School. He never met a stranger and was loved by all.

He loved to get people riled especially if they were a Tennessee fan. Everyone that knew him had to endure his love for Alabama and hear that favorite saying “Roll Tide”. Today he is rolling with the biggest tide of all with the heavenly angels.

Chris is survived by the light of his world, his son, Alexander James Boyd (A. J.); his father and mother, Paul and Sandra Boyd; aunts, Shelia Barnett and Norma Johnson and uncles, Sammy Boyd and Stanley Barnett. Many cousins and so many friends that loved him dearly; his fur babies; Allie, Snoopy and Candy also survive.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Luther and Pauline Boyd and maternal grandparents, Ford and Florence Barnett. A Celebration of Life for Christopher Lynn Boyd will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister officiating. Eulogy will be given by Mr. Chris Mathes.

Music will be under the direction of Brian Potter, Todd Potter and Lauren Potter. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Mathes, James Avery, Pat Loyd, Terry Barnett, Carmen Whitehead, Gary Hinkle, Tim Thornburg, Bryan Barnett, Lance Bray, Rob Mosley, Brian Cope and Tony Hardin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service.
