Obituary for Rory Spong GREENFIELD – Rory Lee Spong, age 49, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. He was born on August 9, 1969 in Greensboro, NC as the son of Ronald and Joyce (Felix) Spong. Rory graduated from East Forsyth High School.

He worked in the automotive industry for many years. Rory enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR, especially Dale Jarrett. He most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Rory is survived by his sons, Justin (Lauren) Spong and Derek (Kate) Spong; daughter, Jessica (Curtland) Spong; brothers, Ron Spong, Rick “Eric” Spong, Rob Spong, Richard Spong, and Ryan Spong; and two grandchildren, Chloe and Raegan Spong. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Joyce Spong. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy.
