Renna (née Addesso) of Avon by the Sea, NJ passed away at home peacefully on January 16, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Rose was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and was a graduate of Elizabeth High School. Rose and her husband, Philip, raised their family in Holmdel and eventually settled in Avon by the Sea.

Rose lived for her four sons and loved them more than life itself. She was active in the Holmdel PTA and St. Catharine’s Church. Rose loved to cook and enjoyed nothing more than feeding anyone who entered her home.

She had a great sense of humor and contagious laugh. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. Rose was predeceased by her beautiful son, Michael Angelo, and by her parents Michele Angelo and Giuseppina Addesso.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty one years, Philip, and her sons Nicholas, Peter and Vincent. She is also survived by her six siblings; Lou (Janet), Joe (Linda), Sebastian (Nancy), Jimmy (Tracy), Fran, and Lisa (Carlos) Martins and many nieces and nephews. Rose’s struggle would have been much greater without the continued support of her lifelong friend, Cindy Bellino, who lifted Rose’s spirits during her most trying times.

Visitation will be held at the Reilly, Bonner Funeral Home in Belmar, NJ on Saturday, January 19th, from 8 am until 1pm, followed by a funeral mass at the Parish of St. Teresa of Calcutta (formerly St. Elizabeth’s Church) in Avon by the Sea, NJ at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Rose’s memory to Mary’s Place by the Sea, 22 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756. For more information please visit reillybonnerfuneralhome.com.
