Rose’s Obituary Rose Mary Seymour, 75, of Parkersburg passed away March 30, 2019 at her residence. She was born October 25, 1943 in Wood County, a daughter of the late Richard Elwood and Genevieve Waldine Barnett Kanney. She retired from Parkersburg Sewing Center after many years of service.

She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Parkersburg. Rose is survived by her three children, Edwin Seymour, Jr. (Lori) of Pittsburgh, PA, Alisha Seymour and Jennifer Seymour both of Columbia, SC; her brothers and sisters, Richard Kanney (Gloria) of Westminster, MD, Cheryl Chaney (Lionel) of Parkersburg, Fred Kanney (Linda) of Pickerington, OH and Celestine “Cookie” Hollister (Joe) of Atlanta, GA; her three grandchildren, Jacob, Sydney and Taylor Seymour; her god-daughter and god-son, Nalonni Smith Rubin and George Daniels, Jr. and many family, friends and loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. Seymour, Sr.; her sister, Kathy Kanney; one niece, Angela Seymour; and a nephew, Lamar Kanney. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Lisa Grays officiating. Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

The family would like to thank Housecalls Hospice for their love and care given to Rose.
