Obituary for Rosemary M. Heisey Fry Rosemary M. Heisey Fry, 96, of Palmyra and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Londonderry Village, Palmyra. She was the wife of the late Eden D. Fry who died in 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Eugene and Herman Heisey.

Born in North Londonderry Township on May 29, 1922, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Walter Edwin and Irene Lillian Boyer Heisey. She grew up in a farming family where she learned to love the outdoors, appreciate hard work, and value the company of family and friends. She graduated from Annville High School in 1939 and married Eden, her husband of 71 years, on November 30, 1940.

Rosemary was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress, knitter and quiltmaker. She was a very active person but never too busy for her family. Eden and her four children and, later, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always the center of her life, love and devotion.

In many ways she is responsible for the tight-knit, loving family that survives her. Rosemary’s giving, gracious spirit was the hallmark of her life. She found joy in serving others, volunteering many years with Meals on Wheels and visiting homebound senior members of her church.

While gardening was her delight, she took even more pleasure in sharing the fruits of her garden with others. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg where she taught Sunday School and served as Superintendent of the Children’s Ministry and as a church Trustee. Later in life she and Eden were members of Fishburn United Methodist Church in Hershey.

For many years she and Eden were relief houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Rosemary’s positive influence on many of the children they parented has come back throughout the years in personal visits and letters of appreciation. Surviving Rosemary are her four children, Robert Fry and his wife Rosita, Dr. June Fry, Mary Brillhart and her husband William, and Lois Parker and her husband Thomas; and six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

Rosemary’s children would like to express their appreciation to Londonderry Village and, especially the staff of Hostetter House who have become like family over the past few years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Fishburn United Methodist Church, 1215 Fishburn Road, Hershey, PA 17033 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park.
