Obituary for Roy Ellis Healdton – Graveside Services for Mr. Roy Gene Ellis, 72, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday Sept. 20, 2018 at the Dixie Cemetery north of Ringling with Bro. Mike Johnston officiating.

Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling. Roy was born on Nov. 28, 1945 at Crossville, Illinois to the late Mr. Albert Paul Ellis and Mrs. Agnes Pauline (Randall) Ellis.

He departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 at a healthcare facility in Ada. Roy was raised at Oklahoma and Crossville, Illinois moving quite frequently following the Oil Field work.

He graduated from High School in 1964 from Crossville High School and soon afterwards he married the former Jackie Robinson on June 6, 1966. He then joined the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and soon became stationed at Vietnam where he served his country honorably. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Illinois and returned to his work in the Oil field.

He worked in the Oil Field all of his working years mainly for Superior which later became Mobil. Employed for Mobil he received a transfer to this area which he found residence north of Healdton where he still remained. Roy retired in at the age of 55 and enjoyed all of his free time riding horses and living the cowboy way of life.

He always enjoyed his grandchildren and always enjoyed being with his family. He was preceded in death by his Parents and an infant sister, Agnes June Ellis. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jackie Ellis of Carmi, Illinois; son, Seth Ellis of the home; daughter, Carrie Ogle and husband Adam of Ratliff City; sisters, Betty Davis of Lake City, FL, Shirley Kimmel, Carol Cox and husband Larry, all of Crossville, Illinois and Sue Basham and husband Joe of Harrisburg, Ill; brother, Bill Ellis and wife Ann of Florida; grandchildren, Destiny Hammons and husband Jeb of Healdton and Bailey Ogle of Ratliff City; numerous other nieces and nephews.

Casket Bearers are Craig Perkins, Bill Sims, Roger Hart, Paula Cox, Tammy Aud and Larry Cox. Honorary bearers are Jeff Vaupel, John Eagleson, Willie Wilson and Bob Puntney. Condolences may be sent online at www.
