Obituary for Patricia Irene Runnels (Elmore) Wilson – Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Irene (Elmore) Runnels, 73, of Wilson, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Ron Elmore officiating.
Interment will follow at the Morgan Rest Cemetery in Simon. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Patricia was born on February 10, 1945 in Springer, OK to the late Mr. George Franklin Elmore and Mrs. Martha Louise (Deathrage) Elmore.
Pat was raised in the Springer and Ardmore area. She was a graduate of Ardmore High School. She attended Nursing School at Murray State College in Tishomingo.
She began her nursing career working as a Nurse Aide at the Wilson Nursing Center and later worked for the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore as a Nurse where she retired in 2009. She and Bobby Hodges married on April 4, 1964 and were blessed with three children Melissa, Robin, and Frank. Later in life she married Mr. Floyd Runnels in May of 2002 and they made their home in Wilson where they have happily remained.
Pat loved shopping on QVC, visiting WinStar, taking trips and watching old westerns. Preceding her death are her parents and a brother, Larry Elmore. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Floyd Runnels of the home; son, Bobby Franklin Hodges and wife Teresa of Simon; daughters, Melissa Dawn Hodges and Christi Jones of Simon and Robin Renee Whatley and husband Jeff of Wilson; brothers, Gary Elmore and wife Teresa of Thackerville, and Sam Elmore and wife Dovie of Marietta; sister, Kathy Gamble and husband Mike of Zaneis; grandchildren, Braden Whatley and wife Jacobi, Cassidy Ramsey and husband C.J., Matthew Hodges, Wesley Hodges, Johnathon Hodges, Joshua Hodges, C.J. Hornback, Macy Owens, and Peyton Henry; great grandchildren, Jensyn and Hawk; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as Casket Bearers will be Braden Whatley, Matthew Hodges, Wesley Hodges, Johnathon Hodges, Joshua Hodges, and C.J. Ramsey. Honorary Casket Bearers will be nephews, Wesley and Weston Elmore and nieces, Christian Manton, Lindsey Elmore and Courtney Albro. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday evening at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson.
