Roy James Ubl August 18, 1949 – January 15, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Roy James Ubl passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2015 at his home. He was 69 years old. Roy spent most of his life in the Sandstone area.

He graduated from Sandstone High School in 1967. In January of 1969 Roy enlisted in the Marines and drove AmTrac in Vietnam until his end of service in December of 1970. He was married to Pat Gardener from 1969-1971, Sue Boden from 1973-1975 and Wendy Dahlberg from 1981-1994.

Roy worked for FCI Sandstone for 20 years and retired in 2003 He loved fixing cars, helping people and telling a never ending stream of jokes. More than anything else, Roy loved driving his Harley. His guilty pleasure was watching The Bold and the Beautiful.

He also loved watching Wheel of Fortune. He is preceded in death by his Mom, Mildred Ubl and Dad, James Ubl. He is survived by his children; Christine (Greg) Mellang, Denise (Curt) Blomquist, Rebecca (Todd) Nichols, James (Ruth Ann) Ubl, Savanna Ubl, and Samantha Ubl, 2 sisters; Sandra (Chad) Lacey and Judy (Lane) Sistrunk and 14 grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Methven Funeral and Cremation Services in Sandstone, Minnesota.
