Roy Stanley Brown, 88, of Andalusia, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Aledo. A private Baha’i service will be at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, followed burial at Andalusia Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life gathering following the service and burial from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the home of Louie (son), 712 3rd St. E., Andalusia.

Memorials may be made in care of the Andalusia Cemetery Association. Roy was born on May 14, 1930 at Moline Public Hospital, Moline, a son of Bert Roy and Fama Snook Brown. He married Majorie Winterbottom in 1948.

Later he married the love of his life and soul mate, Alice “Rexine” Hoffman in November of 1968. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2015. Roy was a brick-layer for over 40 years for the Local #6.

He also did fire-brick work for A P Green for many years. After retirement, he worked several years at the Lady Luck Casino (Isle of Capri) in the house keeping department. He and Rexine loved golfing, fishing, camping and traveling.

He was a member of the Rock Island Fraternal Order of Eagles #956. Survivors include his sons, Rod Brown, Missouri and Randy (Jill) Brown, West Virginia; step-children, Connie (Don) Brock, Andalusia, Linda Hesse, Andalusia, Robert (Bob) Freeburg, Milan, Louie Hoffman, Andalusia and Chester “Chuck” (Shelly) Hoffman, Andalusia; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bert Allen Brown, Rock Island and William H. Brown, RR Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Rexine, two sons, Roy Lee and Robbie Brown and sisters, Adaline Meyer, Phyllis Edmund and Charlotte Schaab.

The family would like to thank all the entire staff at the Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the care and love you gave to Roy.
