Roy Wendall Stiger, 90, of 301 Buttonwood Lane, Muncy, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. Born September 7, 1927 in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, he was a son of the late Charles T. and Cora E. (Kiess) Stiger. On Nov.

25, 1950 he married the former, Yvonne Larson, who survives. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Roy was a 1945 graduate of Montoursville High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in 1950.

Roy served in the Army during World War II with the occupation army in Japan, earning a WWII victory metal. He worked at the former Sprout Waldron, now Andritz, as an engineer, retiring after 34 years. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy, the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W. and the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Roy was a member of the Warrensville Hunting Club, for a number of years. He also enjoyed traveling, woodworking and photography. Surviving are six sons and daughters-in-law, Barry R. and Barb Stiger, of Williamsport, Randall L. and Barb Stiger, of Muncy, Keith W. and Sara Stiger, of Florida, Kent A. and Deb Stiger, of Pittsburgh, David L. Stiger and Kris Karlson, of Hanover, NH and Donald M. and Susan Stiger, of Three Oaks, MI; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Nelson Lowe, of Muncy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Doris V. Finicle and Jean A. Lowe; a brother, Orville D. Stiger and a grandson, Christopher Stiger. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Daniel P. Landin, officiating.

Full military honors will immediately follow the service. Burial will be held privately in the Muncy Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756 or to Susquehanna Health Foundation, for the benefit of Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and mail to 1001 Grampian Blvd.
