Ruby Ardene (Pate) Cornett, age 83, of Norman, went to heaven on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born on July 30, 1935, in Alamo, the daughter of the late James Clifford Pate and Dorothy Brumley Pate. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.D. Cornett; two sisters, Mary Jo Camberen and Jimmie Lea Pate; and one daughter, Patricia Anne Seale Godwin.

Ruby loved the Lord and enjoyed old gospel hymns. She will be remembered for her passion for fishing. Ruby was also a masterful cook, and enjoyed feeding everyone at large gatherings.

She will be greatly missed by anyone who loved or was loved by her. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law; Latricia and Bill Bryant of Black Springs, and Janey and Alfard Hunter of Royal; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Bridgette Seale of Pensacola, Florida, and Charles Seale of Hot Springs; four brothers and one sister-in-law, John Pate of Mount Ida, Enoch and Darlene Pate of Bentonville, Elijah Pate of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and James Pate of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Almeda “Ellie” Tyree of Hot Springs; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro.

Rusty Hunter and Bro. Roger Harper officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday evening.

Interment will be in Peak Cemetery, Royal. Pallbearers will be Jake Bryant, Clayton Newlin, Gene Blackwell, James Seale, Charles Seale, and Dominic Seale. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Finney, Doyne Alexander, and Josh Harper.
