Obituary for Rucker Edward Dyer Rucker Edward Dyer, 85, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away June 23, 2018 at SOVAH Health Martinsville. He was born in Virginia on December 17, 1932 to the late George and Susan Dyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters; and granddaughter, Sabrina Dawn Costner.

Mr. Dyer proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith, and drove for Yellow Cab Company for 22 years before working at Virginia Mirror for 10 years at the time of his retirement. He loved his family, and also enjoyed watching old Western cowboy movies.

He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Dyer-Gillett and Terry Lynn Cassell; two grandchildren, Darryl Wayne Southard and Alexander Wayne Gillett; and several nieces and nephews. All services will be private. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
