Rudolph William Koren, Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 while at Communities at Indian Haven. The son of Louis and Mary (Dragar) Koren, he was born March 3, 1934 in Homer City, PA. Rudolph had been employed by Syntron before retiring from Penelec.

He enjoyed bowling, hunting with his sons, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Rudolph was known as the neighborhood maintenance man whose garage was open to anyone who had mechanical difficulties. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving is his wife, Arvilla (Smith) Koren; sons, Rudolph (Jackie) Koren, Jr., Blairsville and Tim Koren, Coral; grandchildren, Adam (Ashley) Koren, Cory Koren, Katie (Ben) Schiefer, Macy Koren, and Chelsey Koren; great-grandchild, Klyde Rudolph Koren; a sister, Jennie Oravecz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Martin, Edward and Louis; sisters, Steffany Arch, Mary Spillis, Sophie Miller, and Frances Mamrowich. The family would like to give special thanks to Rudolph’s caregiver, Ruby, Communities at Indian Haven, VNA Hospice and Pastor Bob.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
