Obituary for Russell A. Melancon Russell A. Melancon, a resident of Houma, passed away on October 18, 2018 at the age 75. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park (4511 West Park Avenue, Gray, LA 70359) from 5:00 PM to service time. A religious service will take place at 8:00 PM.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jenita Lirette Melancon; son, Rusty A. Melancon; and sisters, Pat Chouest and Darla Domangue. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alces and Bessie Melancon; and sister, Barbara Brown. Russell proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was employed in the oilfield for 55 years holding various titles, both foreign and domestic. He was an avid classic car collector. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
