Russell Eugene Stahl was born January 29, 1951 to the late Carol (Kluge) Stahl and (John) Herbert Ludwig Stahl in Havertown, Pennsylvania. He passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Rus is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen (Drake) Stahl; daughters, Noelle Obara (husband, John) and Kristen Blankmeyer (husband, Bill); granddaughters, Abigail Blankmeyer, Samantha and Jillian Obara; grandsons, David, Henry and Billy Blankmeyer.

He is also survived by his brothers, John (Sandy) Stahl, Albert (Lynne) Stahl, Bruce (Barbara) Stahl; sister, Linda (Tim) Burks; many beloved nieces and nephews. As a child, Rus enjoyed working on a paper route, being involved in Temple Lutheran Church and Messiah Lutheran Church in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. He was also an Eagle Scout with troop 238 out of St. Mark’s Methodist Church, Broomall, Pennsylvania.

Rus was a proud 1968 graduate of Marple Newtown High School and earned a BS in business administration from Shippensburg State College in 1972, where he was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, a service fraternity. Rus worked for the PQ Corporation for 25 years as an IT manager and then worked for Accenture Consulting before retiring in 2013. Rus was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 30 years before his move to Pike Creek, Delaware.

Here Rus became a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church. Rus enjoyed playing flute and tuba in the high school marching band and later played tuba in the MN community band. Rus loved word puzzles of all sorts, Jeopardy, playing board games, enjoying music and spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Philips’s Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19808 on Saturday, June 22 from 10:00-11:00AM, with a Memorial Service in honor of Rus at 11:00AM. A reception will immediately follow in the church social hall.
