Ruth A. Shaeffer, 82, of North Apollo went to be with the Lord June 25, 2018. She was born in Vandergrift August 27, 1935 and the daughter of the late William and Susan Grace (Kirpatrick) Kesler. Ruth was a member of the Spring Church Lutheran Church and was once employed at West Haven Nursing Home in Apollo and Artleys in Vandergrift.

She was a caring mother that enjoyed traveling with her husband Ken, but her favorite past time was being with her family and grandchildren. Shaeffer of North Apollo, four daughters Ruth Maxine Shaeffer of North Apollo, Tenia Marie (John) Torrey of North Carolina, Christine Valerie (John) Healy of Tarentum, and Fay Charlene (John) Gioia of North Carolina, a son Kenneth (Vivian) Shaeffer of North Apollo, a sister Etta (Wayne) Cook of Indiana, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Loretta Ross and three brothers Robert, Harold, and John Kesler.

Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday June 27, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, Pa (724) 567-7006 with a service Thursday June 28, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Spring Church Lutheran Church 3623 Lutheran Church Rd Apollo Pa 15613 with Pastor John Ludwick officiating.
