Robert Lee Heitzenrater, 82, of Vandergrift went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2018. He was born on January 19, 1936 and the son of the late Harry Vaughn (Julia Ethel Bodenhorn) Heitzenrater. Robert was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School class of 1953, a member of The Grace Methodist Church in Punxsutawney, and a Veteran of the United States Marines Corps.

His passions include being in the wilderness, hunting, and wood working but his true love was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Robert is survived by a son R. Bradley (Christine) Heitzenrater of Gerry, New York, a daughter Laura (Richard) Cuica of Vandergrift, two brothers Charles (Betty) Heitzenrater and William (Judith) Heitzenrater, a sister Ethel Yvonne (Dwayne) Thompson of Rochester Mills, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Patricia Vogel Heitzenrater, a great grandson Elliot Heitzenrater, two brother’s Leon and Gene Heitzenrater, and a sister Wanda Freas. Family and Friends will be received for a memorial service on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc. 2842 River Road Vandergrift, Pa (724) 567-7006 with Reverend Rodney Murray officiating. Online condolences may be made at Gamblefh.com.
