Ruth’s Obituary Ruth A. Smith age 70, of La Monte, Mo, passed away Saturday May 18, 2019 at Ridge Crest Nursing Center. She was born August 27, 1948 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Joe and Mildred (Spratley) Murray. Ruth was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.

Ruth’s happiest times where when she was with her family. She enjoyed pranking her close friends, playing Yahtzee and cards. On March 8, 1968, she and Ronald Smith SR were united in marriage in Kansas City, MO.

Ruth and Ronald had two sons Ronald Jr and Randall. She was grandmother to twin boys Tony and Cody. Ruth is survived by her husband Ronald Smith SR of the home; her sons, Ronald (RC) Smith Jr and wife, Jennifer, of Lee’s Summit, MO and Randall Smith of La Monte, MO; her grandsons Tony and Cody Smith; her brother Joe Murray of Columbia, MO; and her great niece Hayley Marquess.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Patricia Marquess. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, MO with Pastor Chris Gray officiating. Pallbearers will be Pat Monahan, Pat John Monahan, Jay Braxton, Dillion Braxton, Mike Fry, and Chad Fry.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte, MO.
