RUTH I. KEPPNER Ruth Irene Keppner, 89, of Quincy, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Monday (November 12, 2018) at St. Vincent’s Home. Born November 28, 1928 in Quincy, Ruth was the daughter of Kenneth and Gladys Allen Hill. She married O. Richard “Dick” Keppner on January 11, 1947 in Quincy.

He preceded her in death on July 28, 2008. Ruth had been a member of Madison Park Christian Church where she was active with her Sunday School Class and Women of the Word. She enjoyed reading, needlework, embroidery, camping and being outdoors.

Ruth loved traveling, especially the many trips she and Dick made throughout the continental United States. Ruth was employed at Head Start for 18 years until her retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lefringhouse (Richard) of Fowler, IL and Kathleen “Kathy” McLaughlin of Quincy; a son, Richard H. “Rick” Keppner (Diann) of Cleveland, OK; six grandchildren, Darin Lefringhouse (Deanna), Spencer Lefringhouse (Susan), Lisa Stockton, Eric Keppner (Jennifer), Chad McLaughlin (Nichole) and Niki McLaughlin; thirteen great grandchildren, Ashley Lefringhouse, Courtney Lefringhouse, Aldric Stockton, Jed Stockton, Gavin McLaughlin, Isaac McLaughlin, Cody McLaughlin, Alexis McLaughlin, Blake Matlick, Grace Brookhart, Andi Hixson (Brad), Kassidy Henderson (Keith) and Jake Keppner; four great great grandchildren, Erin McEntire, Xander Hixson, Addyson Hixson and Ravery Henderson; a brother, Glen Hill (Arlene) of Phoenix, AZ; a sister in law, Frances Keppner of Lewistown, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Keppner; and a brother in law, George Keppner. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent’s Home.
