Ruth’s Obituary Obituary Ruth Rupe, 75 Ruth Rupe, 75, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at her home in Blackfoot. Ruth was born on April 3, 1943 to Alvin and Vera Keele Olney in Blackfoot, Idaho. She grew up in the Blackfoot area, attended schools there and graduated from Snake River High School.

She also lived in Sacramento, California, Virginia, Utah and Idaho. Ruth married Ancil Rupe on May 26, 1973 in Carson City, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized for time and all eternity on May 25, 1991 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Following her graduation, she earned her real estate license. She worked for Judy Broadhead and Bob Bishop. She also worked in planning and zoning for the City of Blackfoot.

Ruth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her calling in the library which she held for many years. She loved to dance.

She also loved to fly and to travel. Her greatest joy was being a mom and grandma. Ruth is survived by her husband, Ancil Rupe; her children, Mark (Kirma) Rupe of Nampa ID, Rick (Mindy) Rupe of Roswell NM, Shane (Sara) Rupe of Firth ID, Tammie (Terry Jr.) Carson of Blackfoot, and Kathlene Ocegueda of Blackfoot; her brother Jack Olney of Blackfoot; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Vera Olney; her brothers Ray, Billy and Jerry; sisters Frances and Vera, one grandson, Andy Rupe and daughter in law, Joyce Rupe. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Blackfoot South Stake Center, 900 Riverton Road. The family will meet with friends and relatives Friday, February 15, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
