Samuel Joe Lackey, 77, of W. Merchant Avenue, Artesia, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 peaceably at home. There will be a memorial service for him on Friday October 5, 2018, starting at 11 am at the Westside Church of Christ in Artesia, NM with Phil Grassey officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Joe Lackey was born June 23, 1941 in Panama City, FL to Fred and Emily (Martin) Lackey. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Nora Lackey; and three brothers: Fred Lackey, Earl Lackey, and George Lackey. Survivors are his three daughters: Cindy Cogburn and husband Fred of Artesia, NM; Beth Foster and husband Rick of Roswell, NM; and Kenni Thompson and husband Robert of Artesia, NM.

Also 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westside Church of Christ.
