Sandra “Sandy” Jean Overland, 79 of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at her home in Nevada. Sandy was born November 24, 1938, in Ames the daughter of Lowell and Elva (Elliott) Lewis. She graduated from Ames High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Donald Dean Overland on March 7, 1958, in Princeton, Missouri.

Sandy worked in the Story County Clerk of Court until her retirement in 1999. Sandy is survived by her husband, Don of Nevada; her daughter, Jody Overland of Ames; and her grandson, Nicholas Stead of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eric; her sister, Velma Gibbs; and her brother Robert Lewis in infancy. Memorial visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Palestine Cemetery near Huxley.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Greeley Hospice. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
