East Liverpool, Ohio – Sara Bricker, 59, of Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, passed away Sunday evening, March 24, 2019 at her residence following a brief illness. Born at East Liverpool, January 16, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Harold T. and Doris Jean Bricker. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1978.

While in high school, she used her beautiful singing voice to participate in many of the schools musicals and with the school choir. Upon graduation, she attended classes at Kent State University, however, her passion was working in the family business, Bricker’s Deli & Cafeteria. As a child, she worked beside her parents, sisters, grandmother and her Uncle, where she worked tirelessly and diligently continuing her career until the present day working with her brother-in-law, Dan Dietz.

Sara dedicated her life to the family business and became friends with many customers and sales persons. She greeted everyone with a smile and had a contagious laugh. Sara always spoke words of kindness to her customers and inquired about their health or overall wellbeing.

She was always willing to offer assistance to those in need and her generosity was overwhelming to the people she served. She was a lifelong member of the St. John Lutheran Church and had been a faithful member of youth choir, adult choir, Sunday school and was involved in several other church activities. She was currently serving on the East Liverpool Board of Health.

She leaves behind three sisters, Janice Snyder and her husband, David “Butch” of East Liverpool, Lisa Turrill and her husband, Roger of Laughlintown, Pennsylvania, and Ann Dietz and her husband, Dan of East Liverpool. There are also six nieces and nephews: Eddie Stansbury and his wife, Allison, Greg Bricker and his wife, Katie, Dayna Hrovath and her husband, Jonathon, Eric Dietz, Gretchen Dietz and Andrea Dietz; and three great nieces and nephews: Alex Stansbury, Nina Stansbury and Brooke Hrovath. Friends may visit Thursday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. and also for one hour prior to the service at the church.

The Reverend Eric Edwards of the church will officiate a funeral service Friday at 1:00p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church on Hill Boulevard. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Following the service family and friends will gather at the church for further fellowship.
