East Liverpool, Ohio – Virginia L. (Boley) Gochenour, 85, of East Liverpool went home to be with her Saviour Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 15, 1933 a daughter of the late Nathan A. and Mary L. Boley. Virginia was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1951.

She was a cashier at Cable’s Valu King for about 20 years. Virginia attended United Brethren Church. She was a member of the Lady Elks, ELHS Honor Guard and East Liverpool Historical Society.

Virginia loved squared dancing with her husband. She loved to sew and was the family seamstress for everyone. She also loved gardening, playing dominoes, picture puzzles, crafting reminiscing and never passed up a yard sale.

Virginia was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband, Melvin Gochenour whom she married January 27, 1952; five brothers Clarence, Elmer, Paul, and twin brothers Willard and Wilfred Boley and four sisters Hazel Tittle, Violet Angus, Doris Billiter and Mary Lou Adkins. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters Debbie Bayer and her husband Chuck of East Liverpool and Beth Porter and her husband Robert of East Liverpool; son Ronald Gochenour of East Liverpool; daughter-in-law Vickey Gochenour of East Liverpool; brother Donald Boley and his wife Helen of Garden City, SC; her dearest friend since 2nd grade Lois Kidd of East Liverpool; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her many wonderful neighbors.

Virginia also will be missed by her “fur granddogs” Abby, Sadie and Lucy. Friends may visit Sunday afternoon at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 1 to 4 p.m. Rev. Joe Cilone and Rev.

Joanne Dota will conduct a funeral service Sunday 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Immediately following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
