Sara Margaret Butcher, 91, of Parkersburg, passed away March 11, 2019 at her residence. She was born on November 25, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Albert Arnhold and Rose Elizabeth Frelke Sutter. Sara was a devoted wife and mother, devoting her life to raising her family.

Her family held a special place in her heart and time with them was very important to her. Sara enjoyed walking and bird watching. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and she had been active with the Matthew 25 ministry for several years.

Sara is survived by her husband of seventy years, Robert G. Butcher, six children David A., Rose Marie, Mary Ellen, Carolyn Ann, James C., Michael R. nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sister Dorothy Craig and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters Adamay Sutter, Helen Sell and Rosemary Barlow. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Rev.

J. Stephen Vallelonga,V.F. celebrating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 on Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Matthew 25 Ministry at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.
