Obituary of Scholastica Geary Scholastica “Scotty” Geary, 88, formerly of Latrobe, PA, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018 in Burke, VA. She was born on January 26, 1930 in Latrobe, PA, the daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth C. (Tarnazie) Kovach. Scotty was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish prior to moving to Virginia.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert M. Geary in 1998, and her three siblings: John J. Kovach, Albert A. Kovach, and Elizabeth T. Gessler. She is survived by her five children: Lenore Mosso and her husband Karl of Annandale, VA, David Geary and his wife Mary of Burke, VA, Cynthia Atiyeh and her husband Nicholas of Fairfax, VA, Robert Geary and his wife Roxanne of Manassas, VA, and Leigh Ann Sutton and her husband Scott of Manassas, VA; ten grandchildren: Dacia Mosso, Eric Mosso (and wife Emily), Devin Geary, Brice Geary, Danya Atiyeh (and husband Wells Harrell), John Atiyeh, Lauren Geary (and husband Brendan Wiggins), Matthew Sutton, Christopher Sutton, and Samantha Sutton; and four great-grandchildren: Adelaide Mosso, Lincoln Mosso, Presley Mosso, and Charlotte Harrell-Atiyeh. Family, friends, and others whose lives she touched are invited to celebrate the life of Scotty on Sunday, June 24 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 1500 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. To post an online condolence please visit www.
