Sean L.{Fridge} Detwiler, 51, of Belle Vernon, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 2, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Born August 19, 1967 in North Charleroi to Linda Wilson of Pricedale, PA and the late James B. Detwiler of Elizabeth, PA.

Sean graduated from South Park High School in 1987 and went on to attend college at IUP where he received an All American Honorable Mention, and his football team played in the National Championship game in 1990. He was employed at the West Mifflin General Motors plant for many years til being transferred, first to the Mansfield,Ohio plant, then to the plant in Cleveland, Ohio where he retired from in 2017 due to health issues. Sean’s favorite past times were spending time cooking out with family and friends, he was a master chef on the grill just like his dad; he enjoyed eating good food and listening to his oldies but goodies, and trying to sing!

Not having any children of his own, he went out of his way to spoil all of his nieces, nephews, and younger cousins, helping with school clothes, birthday and Christmas gifts. He loved and adored his mother and took the best care of her as any son could and would do. He was a family man in every sense of the word, helping out whenever and wherever he was needed.

He was our gentle giant with a kind and giving heart. For years, he was a faithful, silent supporter of the Victorious Faith Evangelism Ministry. In addition to his father, James B. Detwiler, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frederick and Bernice Fields; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lois Detwiler; a niece, Keiauna L. Davis; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Wilson; two brothers, Lloyd K. Fields of Winchester, California and Anthony S. Malcolm of Baldwin, PA; two sisters, Shelley M. Parham of Pricedale, PA and Sheila M. Detwiler of Charlotte, N. Carolina; two very close friends, Damon and Lenny Ross; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends will be received on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home, 608 Sixth Street, Monessen, PA 15062 from 4-6; from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, Sept.

10, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Terrace Rd. , Library, PA 15129 where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept.
