Shane William Hayes, age 55, of Gloversville, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1963 in Gloversville, a son of the late Frank and Carol Guy Hayes. Shane was a graduate of Johnstown High School.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for over 21 years until retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Mr. Hayes was a member of the North Bush United Methodist Church. He is survived by one daughter Bethany Hayes, one brother Shiloh Hayes and three sisters Tammy Hayes, Kimberly Sanders and Katherine Eighmey.

In addition to his parents, Shane was predeceased one uncle John Guy and one aunt June Patten. Niche interment with military honors will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, New York. Contributions in Shane’s memory may be made to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, New York 12078.
