BEVERLY – Sheila A. (MacNutt) Shipp, 83, died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Ledgewood Nursing & Retirement Center, Beverly following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Shipp who died in 2014. Born in Beverly on September 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Elena M. (Callahan) MacNutt.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and has resided in Beverly most of her life. Sheila was employed as a nurse’s aide at the former… Read More » Beverly Nursing Home and the V.N.A. of the North Shore for several years before retiring and moving to Pequawket Lake in Brownfield, Maine with her husband in 1996. She returned to Beverly to reside at Turtle Creek four years ago.

She was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church of Beverly and served as a Deacon at the Brownfield Church in Maine. She enjoyed needlework, knitting for charities and was active in the art community at Turtle Creek. She is survived by her son, Stephen Shipp and his wife, Roberta (Hart); three daughters, Sally Cyr and her husband, Michael, Sherry Homans and her husband, Richard and Stacey Vitale; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Michael Shipp, James and Timothy Fereira, Kimberly Jensen, Meaghan Abbott and Andrew and Jack Homans; four great-grandchildren, Audrey and Dylan Fereira and Miles and Wesley Jensen; son-in-law, Rick Fereira; two sisters, Maureen and Jeanne MacNutt; sister-in-law, Ruth MacNutt and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Fereira, son-in-law, Daniel Vitale, a sister, Ann Moore and two brothers, David and Lawrence MacNutt. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday in the Immanuel Congregational Church, 140 Bridge St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 – 7 p.m. Interment in North Beverly Cemetery. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
