BEVERLY – Connie E. (Bernasconi) Dooling, 89, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John M. “Jack” Dooling who died in January 2017. Born in Beverly on September 21, 1928, Connie was the daughter of the late John and Carmela (Mastrofrancesco) Bernasconi.

She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1946. Connie completed graduate studies at Salem State College in Psychology, leading to a second career as a psychotherapist.

Connie’s proudest achievement was earning her CAGS (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies). Connie was a warm, compassionate and thoughtful person who highly valued the feelings and opinions of others. Connie had a passion for learning and numerous and diverse interests, including her flower gardens.

As an accomplished seamstress, she parlayed her skill into a small yet successful home business. Connie had a love of cooking and excelled at creating beautifully decorated cakes. Her home-made Italian pasta made holiday meals a delight.

An avid investor, Connie managed her own successful stock portfolio. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Guidi of Danvers; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Holly Dooling of Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren – Jason Yarn and his wife, Heather Horgan and their son, Hal of New York City, Lauren Guidi of Boston, Ryan Guidi of Danvers, Hannah Dooling of Seattle, WA, Emily Dooling of Portland, OR and several nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her sister Mary Bernasconi Mears.

Connie’s funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24th at 11 AM at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 -11 AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
