Funeral services for Sherian Thornton, age 73 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Tyler, Texas with Bro. Bob Wallace and Randall Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Olive Branch Cemetery in Brushy Creek, Texas.

Sherian passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Tyler. She was born February 2, 1946 in Houston to the late, Eugene and Louise (Sherrouse) Smith. Sherian has lived in Lindale for the last 33 years where she taught 5th and 6th grade.

She enjoyed reading, singing, and was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Tyler. She is preceded in death by sons, Randall Edward Thornton Jr. and Daniel Wayne Thornton. Sherian is survived by her husband of 56 years, Randall Thornton of Lindale; son, Kevin Thornton and wife, Sandra of Lindale; brother, Ronald Smith of Tennessee; sisters, Sheila Odom of Plano and Cynthia Allen of Georgia; grandchildren, Tarah Thornton, Hunter Thornton, Taylor Nisbet, Matthew Thornton, and Jamie Thornton; great grandson, Ezra Nisbet; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Gary Dumas, Trent Jones, Richard Palmer, William Purcell, Joe Spain, and Delwyn Harrison. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
