Sherry Lynne Hartrick, 70, of Champaign died on the evening of Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Evelyn’s House (BJC Hospice), Creve Coeur, MO. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 5 from 10-11 am at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St, Champaign. The funeral service will begin at 11 at the funeral home.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Lake Fork Cemetery in Atwood. Sherry was born on November 16, 1947 in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Harold Kenneth Carmack and Dixie Karlene Albright Carmack. She married Larry Alan Hartrick on August 10, 1985 in Champaign.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; 2 daughters, Aimee Sumter Collins (Brian) of Wimberley, TX and Julie Ann Carmack of Perth, Australia (daughters of Terry Sumter); 1 son, Mark T.C. Hartrick of KS; 2 stepsons, Sean Georges of IN and Arthur (Mary Beth) Georges of Peoria; 2 grandchildren, Bryton and Alexandria and 2 brothers, Kenny (Cindy) Carmack of IN and Brad Carmack of IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson Lance Georges. Sherry continued to educate herself to improve the lives of herself and her children.

She had a caring heart and was determined to say at least one nice thing about everyone she met. For many years she would bake cookies for the homeless. She enjoyed writing poetry and painting.

She was a talented seamstress making many beautiful things for her family and home. Sherry was also an avid genealogist, leading to extensive scrapbooking to make the family history come alive. In her last years she furthered her spiritual knowledge and faith by her continued studies of the Bible.
