Shirley’s Obituary Shirley Edith Dow, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Grove, OK. She was born on April 20, 1941 in Radison, WI to her parents, Irving C. McFarland and Minnie Minks-McFarland. Shirley loved to vacation in Branson, make beautiful quilts and color in her coloring books.

Most of all she loved to be with members of her spiritual family and congregation. After doing a thorough study of the Bible, Shirley was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 11, 2000. In her Bible studies she discovered the answers to common questions that have plagued mankind for thousands of years.

She learned: God has a personal name, Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) God created us for a purpose. He wanted families to make the earth a paradise and take care of the animals. (Gen.

1:28) When God says he will do something, nothing will stop Him. (Isaiah 46:9-11; 55:11) Because of a deliberate act of disobedience from our first parents, Adam and Eve, they died and passed sin and death to all of their children. (Genesis 2:17; 3:1-6; Romans 3:23; 5:12) But by means of the ransom sacrifice of Jehovah’s son Jesus, we have a bright hope for the future.

God’s Kingdom that we pray for in the Lord’s Prayer, with Jesus as the appointed King, will solve mankind’s problems. (Matthew 6:9, 10) Jesus Kingdom rule will end War, Crime and Violence. (Psalm 46:9) Humans will have beautiful houses and gardens and will live in peace.

(Isaiah 32:18; 65:21-24) There will be plenty of food. (Psalm 72:16) There will be peace between humans and animals. (Isaiah 11:6-9) Paradise will be a reality where no one will get sick, grow old and die.

The most wonderful promise Shirley learned was that the dead will live again. (Isaiah 33:24; Acts 24:15) Shirley was completely convinced based upon prophecies that she could see fulfilled in her lifetime, that soon Jehovah God will bring about all of his Kingdom promises for righteous mankind here on the earth. (Psalm 37:10, 11) Humans will then say to Him: “You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing”.
