Shirley’s Obituary Shirley Jean Ketner James, 80, of Welcome, NC passed away May 11, 2019 at The Hinkle House, Hospice of Davidson County. She was born in Davidson County on December 12, 1938 to Charles A. and Zetta Nifong Ketner. Mrs. James was an active member of Good Hope Methodist Church as long as her health permitted.

Shirley retired from Sara Lee with 16 years of service. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert James, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Ketner (Gail) and two special nephews, Lewis Hall (Sandra) and Charles Ketner ; two special nieces, Suzanne Ketner and Lori Henrich (Tim); Two great nephews, Christopher Ketner and Adam Henrich; and one great niece, Emma Henrich.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice for their loving care of Shirley during her final days. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Reverend Joseph Fulk, III officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Hinkle House, Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
