Shirley L. Gottshall, 81, of Beaver Township, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a lengthy illness. Born in Shenandoah, January 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Freeman) Walker and spent the past 62) years in Beaver Valley after moving from Shenandoah. Shirley was a Homemaker and was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Nuremberg.

She was also a member of AARP, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband John Gottshall, Sr.,who passed away April 24, 1999; an infant daughter Florence Elsie Gottshall, 1957; two sisters Margaret Ann Walker, and Edith Lipiec. Surviving are three sons John Gottshall and his wife Donna, Plymouth; James Gottshall and his wife Theresa, Seven Valleys; Gordon Gottshall and his wife Barbara, Bloomsburg; three daughters Peggy Wood, Priest River, ID; Amy Sanchez and her companion Martin Roque, Hazleton; and Amber Leiby and her husband Atlee, Beaver Township Leiby; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; two brothers Clayton Walker, and his wife Mary Ann, Mahanoy City; Frank Walker and his wife Lillian, East Brunswick, NJ; three sisters Grace Schuyler, Drums; Ruth Holden, Shenandoah; and Susan Aponick, Mahanoy City; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11 am in Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Nuremberg. Burial will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen Wednesday, evening 7-9 pm.
