Shirley Mae (Paxton) Deskin of Aurora, CO, formerly of Kewanee, died August 20, 2018 at her home. She was born July 27, 1937 in Kewanee, the daughter of Harold W. and Etta Marie (McNaught) Paxton. She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1955.

She married Frank Vance Deskin in June 1955. He preceded her in death in December 2016. She is survived by a son, Douglas V. Deskin of Aurora, CO and a daughter, Beth (Jeff) Tramel of Aurora, CO; and two grandsons, Jeremy and Matthew, both of Arvada,… Read More » CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a grandson, Nathan Tramel. Shirley was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband and children. She enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband with one of her favorite places being Las Vegas.

She spent many hours embroidering quilt blocks and loved to play bingo. A joint Memorial Service for Shirley and Frank will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate.

Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, IL. Military Rites will be conducted by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to the Denver Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
