Obituary for Shirley Mae Vogel Shirley Mae Vogel, 73, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born April 27, 1945, in Melrose, Minnesota to Erving and Esther (Bringie) Hinnkamp. She graduated from Melrose High School and worked various jobs before graduating from college.

For 14 years she was married to Gerry Vogel. She worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune and Survivor.

Her family recalls her love for animals and being with her granddaughters. She is survived by her son, Kirk (Jennifer) Vogel of Red Wing; grandchildren, Brittany, Nicole and Amber Vogel; sisters, Kay (Bill) Ellis of Columbia Falls, Montana, Ruth Hinnkamp of Becker, MN; childhood friend, Mary Ellen of Melrose; niece, Annie Marie (Dan) Herzog; nephew, Brian Hinnkamp, surviving aunt, uncle and many friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Randy Hinnkamp, her parents and her puppy, Tiger.
