Sidney L. Hamlin, 66, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born December 25, 1951 in McKeesport, son of the late Willie J. and Marion Hornbeak Hamlin; He was also preceded in death by siblings, Danny Hamlin, Linda Hamlin, Gregory Hamlin, Derdra Hamlin, Deidra Hamlin, Bill Byrd Hamlin, and Charles Byrd, and man’s best friend, Diamond Hamlin. Sidney was a former member of the Morning Star Baptist Church and a graduate of Clairton High School.

He went on to attend the Akron School of Electronics and also worked as the Director of Maintenance for Ralph Falbo Construction. Survivors include his two children, Carisa Robertson of Richmond, VA and Sidney (Karee) Hamlin, II of Verona; he helped rear, Kara Cornish and her two children of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren; seven siblings, Gonda Lee Meade of Clairton, Donna (Kamal) Wasim of Clairton, Wendy Payne of McKeesport, Vertie Bryd of Penn Hills, Kenneth D. (Audrey). Hamlin, Sr. of Clairton, Phillip (Janella) Hamlin of Clairton, Val Byrd of McKeesport; two aunts, Elizabeth Wilson and Mary Sumpter, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. in Morning Star Baptist Church, 307 Shaw Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania. where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gloria Ruffing officiating Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania 15037.
