Stanley D. Larson, 80, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Wildwood Church, East Moline. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Saturday at the church prior to the service.

Private burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wildwood Church or to the family. Stanley was born on March 7, 1938, in Moline, the son of Donald R. and Viola J. (Peterson) Larson.

He married Marsha A. Winthurst on January 14, 1960, at Watertown Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran. Stan had previously worked for the Augustana Bookstore, DeSaulniers, and most recently at Mid-American Energy.

He was a member of Wildwood Church. He enjoyed being outdoor and camping as well as golfing with his family. Stan was an avid Cubs fan.

Above all, he loved being with his family and being an involved grandparent. Survivors include his wife; children, Julie (Gary) Overmire, Scott (Kathy) Larson, Karen (Dane) Howell, Leanne (Todd) Larison; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, step mother, Vernette Larson, and step sister, Rita Smith.
