OBITUARY Stanley Edward Pelson Jr. December 24, 1934 – October 28, 2018 Stanley Edward Pelson Jr, 83, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 24, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Stanley E. And Rose I. (Wasieleoski) Pelson. Stanley was happily married to Rose N. (DiBella) Pelson for 47 years before her passing in 2015.

Stanley lived in NYC before moving to Hartford in 1947. Though brief, his time spent in NYC left a lasting impression that lead to a lifelong love for the New York Yankees. He had many hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and collecting sports memorable.

Stanley had a career with Rizzo Pool for over 50 years and could often be seen driving his Rizzo truck around town. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his two sons: Michael Maston and his wife Nancy of Torrington and Steven Maston and his wife Lynne of Newington; his five adored grandchildren: Michael Maston, II and his wife Melisa Mehmedovic of Windsor, Vincent Maston and his husband Paul Grammens of Marlborough, Jillian Maston and Jenna Maston of Torrington, and Rebecca Maston of Newington; and his cherished four great-grandchildren; Michael III, Anabella, Lucas and Samson. Stanley is also survived by his brother-in-law, John DiBella and his wife Ginny of Wethersfield; two sister-in-law’s, Debbie Wilcox and her husband Guy and Mary D’Alesandro, all of East Hartford and many dear nieces, nephews and their families, Dean DiBella his children, Grant and Gavin, Mark D’Alesandro and wife Kaitlin and their children, Mateya and Gionni, Craig D’Alesandro and wife Merary and their children Eleora and Garren, Guy Wilcox, Dominic Wilcox, Brooke Wilcox and daughter, Brooklynn, Carly Wilcox and daughter, Jaelyn and Nico Wilcox.

The family would like to acknowledge his lifelong friend, Al Rizzo who was like a brother to Stanley. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and brother-in-law, Gary D’Alesandro. Stanley’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice staff of Hartford HealthCare at Home.

Funeral services will begin on Friday (November 2) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. , Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 53 Capitol Ave, Hartford. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.
