In Loving Memory Stanley L. Hutchins October 25, 1947 – December 31, 2018 Stanley, 71, passed away at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA surrounded by his family on December 31, 2018. Viewing will be Friday, January 4th from 9am to 2pm at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt funeral home, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 5th at 11am also at the funeral home with Randy Grove officiating.

A concluding Graveside service… Read More » will begin at 2pm at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens, 300 SE Myra Road, College Place, WA. Stanley was born to Alden W. Hutchins and Leanora A. Tasker in Walla Walla on October 25, 1947. He grew up here and received his GED from Walla Walla High School.

Stanley married Roberta E. Hoppe on May 3, 1974 in Walla Walla. Roberta was the love of his life and he was very devoted to her and his family. Stanley spent 28 years with the Washington State Penitentiary and retired as a Sergeant on December 31, 2011.

Stanley enjoyed spending his time fishing on the river and ballroom dancing with Roberta at the Elks Lodge. He taught his daughter Carolyn how to play softball and watched her play through high school; he also enjoyed watching his daughter Doreen play her flute in the school band. Stanley always loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a loving husband, dad, papa, uncle and friend to his family, extended children, friends and his dog Max. Stanley is survived by his two daughters; Doreen O’Harrow (Anderson), Carolyn B. Ahlgren (Hutchins), three sisters; Noralea Ordway, Lori Grove, Jeanie Cronrath, four grandchildren; Cassie, Courtney, Emma, Matthew, four great-grandchildren; Olivia, Natalie, Thomas, Cole, eight nieces and nephews; Jeremy, Jenifer, Julie, Jason, Elizabeth, Kristi, Nathan, Joshua, Kylee. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta, brother, Laddie Hutchins, parents, Alden and Leanora, his grandmother Lillie White and his fishing buddy Ike Kralman.
