Stephen R. Koch Loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Stephen R. Koch, 59, a lifelong resident of Pelham, passed away suddenly but very peacefully following a brief illness at his home with his beloved dog “Cren” by his side. Born in Malden, Massachusetts, January 28, 1959, a son of Janice Marie (Fitzgerald) Koch of Pelham and the late Richard H. Koch, he attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson with the Class of 1977. Stephen was currently employed as a facilities/maintenance worker and plumber at Rivier University in Nashua for over 22 years.

Previously, he worked a s a machinist at the family business, American Cryotech in Pelham. Stephen was lighthearted, generous, easygoing, kind, loving, and always a jokester and prankster who loved to playfully torment his siblings. He was very devoted to his mother and family, especially his son Adam whom he cherished and was always so proud and supportive of.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, walking in the woods and playing with his dog. He also enjoyed gardening, watching sports car racing, football and hockey and was especially fond of cooking and testing out his creations on his family. Family gatherings were never complete without his “famous” stuffed mushrooms.

He had a tremendous circle of friends who adored his cheery yet often witty and sarcastic nature. In addition to his mother Janice, Stephen is survived by a son Adam R. Koch and his companion Erica Vikman of Pelham; two step-daughters Krystal Boyle and Kerri Brown both of Nashua; two step-grandchildren Aaron and Jayden; two sisters Anne E. Holden of Pelham and Kathleen L. Noviello and her husband Robert of Windham; a brother Nathaniel R. Koch and his wife Lori of Hollis; a niece Katherine E. Holden of Nashua; three nephews Joseph G. Holden of Dracut, MA and Samuel D. Koch and Thomas H. Koch both of Hollis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was also uncle of the late Benjamin N. Koch.
