Stephen’s Obituary East Falmouth – Stephen V. Roy, 68, of E. Falmouth and formerly of Westminster, died at home after an illness on January 16, 2019. He leaves his two brothers, Barry Roy and his wife Bette of Westminster, and Kenneth Roy and his wife Barbara of Merrimack, NH; one sister, Lauren Walker of Surf Side City, SC; two nephews, Craig Roy and his wife Melissa of Leonia, NJ, Tyler Roy and his wife Michelle of New Boston, NH; three nieces, Megan Roy of Portland, ME, Heather McMurtrie of Leavenworth, KS, Katherine McMurtrie and her fiancé Michael Oliva of West Dennis; one aunt, Carol Lindberg of Lunenburg; a godson Adrian Macauley of E. Falmouth and several cousins. Stephen was born in Leominster on March 25, 1950, son of the late Eugene and Mildred (Lindberg) Roy.

He was a 1968 graduate of Oakmont Regional High School. He received his associate from Mt. Wachusett Community College in 1970 and a bachelor’s degree in business from Nichols College in Dudley, class of 1972.

He was the owner and operator of Village Furniture on the Cape for many years. Stephen was an electronics buff and an entrepreneur. He was never at a loss for words, always willing to share his opinions with others.

He enjoyed running his furniture business where he met many people with whom he loved talking with. He was well known for being generous with his time. He had a big heart, always willing to lend a hand to help others.

He was a great and loyal friend. His family is thankful that he was able to attend his 50th high school class reunion, an event he greatly enjoyed. Stephen will be remembered as a man with many opinions, always ready for a good debate.

Life was never dull with Stephen. His family would also like to give a special thank you to his godson, Adrian, for all his help he has given to Stephen over the past years. Stephen’s family would also like to acknowledge Tufts Medical Center, Nephrology Department, for the care he received by them and a special thank you to Dr. Perrone, the entire team and especially Ticco A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St., Westminster, MA 01473 Calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be private. Stephen was grateful for receiving the gift of life, a kidney, from an anonymous donor, allowing him to return to work and to continue a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Stephen’s name to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Organization at pkdcure.org, or a contribution can be mailed to: PKD 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220 Kansas City, MO 64131.
