Steve Elliot Huffman, age 62 of the Baptist Valley community of North Tazewell, VA died Friday, May 3, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. He was born October 6, 1956 at Welch, WV and was a son of the late Sarah Huffman. Steve graduated from Big Creek High School and had worked many years as a coalminer.

He enjoyed raising dogs and doing body work on cars. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Marie Keith Huffman; three brothers, Jimmy Huffman, Johnny Huffman and Earl Huffman; five sisters, Josie Huffman, Tootie Huffman, Hazel Huffman, Nadine Huffman and Cathy Huffman. Those who survive to cherish his memory include one son, Danny Huffman of Baptist Valley, VA; two daughters, Tonya Huffman of Newhall, WV and Crystal Huffman of Tennessee; one brother, Danny Huffman of War, WV; one sister, Virginia Huffman of War, WV; seven grandchildren, Bryson Huffman, Aubrey Huffman, Kadence Wright, Jacob Huffman, Adena Wright, Jamie Sanchez and Jennifer Welch; several nieces; nephews; other family members and friends also survive.

In honoring Mr. Huffman’s wishes, his body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Pure in Heart Ministries on Lake Witten Road in North Tazewell, VA.
