Steven R. Mercer II, 39, of Olin passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Jones County Regional Hospital in Anamosa, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa. Steve was born on April 3, 1979 to Steven Mercer and Kim Coffin in Fairfield, Iowa.

He married Kassie Cook on April 8, 2000 in Fairfield, Iowa. Steve was an over the road team truck driver with his wife, Kassie for many years. He enjoyed guns, working on various projects and especially loved visiting with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Steven (Barb) Mercer and Kim (Bob Houtwed) Woods, wife Kassie Mercer, children Kristopher and Morgan Mercer, three sisters; Joni (Terry) Hanshaw of Fairfield, Courtney (Casey Carrell) Woods of Omaha, NE, Megan (Mitch) Milanulk of Omaha, NE, paternal grandfather Dennis Mercer, aunt Kristi Coffin of Elizabeth, CO, nieces and nephews Nolan and Lauren Bonar, Haliegh Hanshaw, Tenia, Alex and Robert Williams and mother-in-law Tina Williams. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Betty Coffin and paternal grandmother Barbara Mercer. Memorials may be directed to his children in his honor.
