Wilma Poll, 100 of Maquoketa passed away on October 25, 2018 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. before the service. Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Andrew.

Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home is caring for the family at this time. Wilma Clara Weis was born on August 23, 1918 to William and Clara A. (Wagner) Weis in the Springbrook area. She married Raymond Poll on September 27, 1938 at St. John’s Church in Andrew.

She spent her time farming with her husband on their farm in the Andrew area. Wilma was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa and Catholic daughters of Maquoketa, St. Raphael #1156. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, baking and enjoying her family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her six children; Lorraine (Larry) Gilmore of Iron Hill, Kenneth (Bernice) Poll of Spragueville, Lois Barten of Maqouketa, Donald (Barb) Poll of Maquoketa, Vern (Cindy) Poll of Maquoketa, Patricia (Vincent) Gerardy of Maquoketa, 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, 2 sons; Roger and Duane, three sisters, son-in-law Herman Barten and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to her family in her honor.
