Obituary for Steven Daryl Sutton Daryl Sutton went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 3, 2018 at age 50. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tammy Farmer Sutton; four children, Whitney Painter, Bragan (Brett) Rowell, Kendall (Stephen) Jordan, and Dylan Sutton; six grandchildren, Karsyn Painter, Cannon Painter, Berkley Rowell, Sophia Jordan, Alijah Sutton, and Briggs Rowell; one grandson expected in January, Houston Jordan; mother and stepfather, Lyn & Ed Mardant; four siblings, David (Marcy) Sutton, Jason (Pam) Sutton, Jamie (Jeff) Roach and Samantha Sutton; step-siblings, Pam (Jamie) Barrientos, Evie Cason, and Douglas (Corky) Cason; special friend who was like a brother, Reggie (Stephnie) Sutton; and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Samuel David Sutton, Sr. and his stepmother, Mary Sutton.

He retired from Gardendale Police Department as a sergeant after 25 years of service. At Gardendale, Daryl was the first K-9 Unit Officer with his partner, Rex. He also was the first Narcotics Task Force Officer.

He currently worked for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy in the Highway Safety K-9 Unit with his partner, Voodoo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Just Keep Smiling, P O Box 1565, Gardendale, AL 35071 or www. justkeepsmiling.org.

Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
