Steven is survived by his aunts, Fleta Two Bulls & family, Christine Lajtay & family, and Vestana Red Ear Horse & family; nephew, Mareno Eder & family; and cousins, AlJoe Lajtay, Naomi Yellow Horse & family, Annie Mills & family, Wendy Backs, Teton & Muriel Lakota, Vance Blacksmith, Fast Wolf Family, Running Shield Family, Colhoff Family and Slow Bear Family.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Slow Bear and Mercy Red Ear Horse; brother, Alvin Slow Bear; grandparents, Felix Slow Bear and Mary Door, Steven Red Ear Horse, and Max and Hazel Blacksmith; cousins, Jolene Fast Wolf, Eugene Fast Wolf and Nason Backs, Jr.; niece, Annie Chief Eagle; aunts, Melvina Backs and Lorna Blacksmith; and uncle, Al Blacksmith. Pallbearers will be: Marlon Kelly, Myles Marshall, Teton Lakota, Ethan Tail, Mareno Eder, Navassi Blacksmith, Corey Fast Wolf and AlJoe Lajtay. Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
