Steven “Michael” Newsom Jr., 20 passed away July 16, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1997. He was a graduate of West Muskingum High School and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for The Shelly Company.

Michael enjoyed golfing, shooting guns, basketball and playing Fortnite on Xbox. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army. He is survived by his parents: Steven (Gretchen) Newsom Sr. and Lisa (Thomas Sasser) McCloy Newsom; his wife Abriana “Abby” Rutter Newsom; a sister Blake Newsom; six brothers: Gage Newsom, Carter Newsom, Levi Hampp, Korey Lenox, Kameron Fanning and Konner Fanning; grandparents: Sandra McCloy, Thomas (Phyllis) Newsom and Phil (Vicki) Turner; several in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends; and his furbabies: Kya Lynn Newsom and Leo Newsom.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Donald McCloy and grandmother Kate Newsom. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Thursday, July 19 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 20 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Joe DiVincenzo officiating.
