Steven Walker August 04, 1952 – March 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card SUNSET ~ Memorial services will be held at a later date for Steven Walker, age 66, who passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his residence in Sunset. Mr. Walker was a native of Marksville and a resident of Sunset. He was employed as a service technician with Canrig for thirteen years.

A veteran of the military, Mr. Walker proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved fishing. Mr. Walker had a green thumb, was an avid gardener, and planted many fruit trees but his passion was Day Lilies.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Gail Gaspard Walker of Sunset; two daughters, Alicia Walker and her husband, Jacob Harris, of Corpus Christi, TX and Emily Walker and her companion, Derek Venable, of Church Point; two brothers, Mark Walker and Jay Walker of both Marksville; two sisters, Christine Hawkins of Marksville and Marie Bonnette and her husband, Wayne, of Humble, TX; one grandchild, Erik Walker; and his good friend and fishing buddy, Perry Armand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Walker and Clotille Roule Walker; one brother, Billy Walker; and two sisters, Joanie Walker and Faith Walker. Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, (337) 896-6366, is in charge of arrangements.
